The US vice president and Democratic nominee Kamala Harris engaged in direct voter outreach by conducting door-to-door visits in Pennsylvania on the eve of the 2024 presidential election, in which she faces Republican opponent Donald Trump.
Harris visited a family home in Reading, Pennsylvania. “Took some time today to hear from voters in Pennsylvania and ask for their support,” Harris said while sharing a video on X.
However, in another video of her door-knocking campaign that has gone viral on social media, Harris “staged” the door knock and told a family to go inside their home as she expressed her wish to capture it on camera.
“I want to do a door knock!” Kamala Harris said.
“Oh! You want to do a door knock?” the resident confirmed.
“Yeah! Come on, let’s knock!” Kamala Harris replied.
Sharing the video on X, Trump war room said, “Kamala’s ‘door knocking’ in Pittsburgh involved her meeting supporters outside their home, then demanding they move to the doorway so the press could capture a fake door knock.”
Commenting on the video, a user wrote, “Everything about Kamala’s campaign is fake.”
Another user commented, “Kamala’s ‘door knocking’ moment in Pittsburgh couldn’t be more staged if they tried. She actually had supporters step outside, then told them to go back to the doorway just for a press shot, creating a fake scene to look like she’s out there meeting voters.”
In the lead-up to the closely-contested US presidential race, battleground states remain very important. Pennsylvania’s significance as a crucial swing state could ultimately determine which candidate secures the presidency for the upcoming term.
