Poll ‘Nostradamus’ Allan Lichtman faced one of the biggest setbacks in his election predictions after Donald Trump won as his forecast was for Kamala Harris. Lichtman is often referred to as the “Nostradamus” of US Presidential Polls. Lichtman blamed disinformation for his wrong prediction and stood by the 13 keys that made him predict the election results right all these years. Over the years, Lichtman has been renowned for his accurate forecasting of US elections, having correctly predicted nine out of ten election outcomes.
Lichtman blamed disinformation spread by Tesla and Spacex CEO Elon Musk as one of the reasons behind Harris’ loss. Lichtman has openly criticised Musk for amplifying disinformation online on topics such as immigration, hurricane relief, and the war in Ukraine, “tipping the scales,” as the News Nation report noted. Speaking with News Nation, Lichtman elaborated on the reasons for his incorrect forecast, citing conservative media platforms and Elon Musk as contributing factors.
Elon Musk’ disinformation is ‘behind’ the loss
“Disinformation is the primary issue,” Lichtman stated during an appearance on Chris Cuomo’s NewsNation show. “We’ve always had disinformation, but it’s now reached unprecedented levels. Much of the grievances of this election were fuelled by it.” He continued, “Scholars have shown that when truth dissolves, democracy follows. Authoritarian regimes take hold not through force but through the manipulation of information, as George Orwell warned in 1984, where war is peace and famine is plenty.”
Lichtman has now announced that he will be deactivating his X account soon. “I am done with X. I will be deactivating my account soon. The good news is, I’ll be over on Bluesky! You can follow me there: https://bsky.app/profile/allanlichtman.bsky,” wrote Lichtman.
For those unaware, Bluesky is the social media platform that several ‘liberals’ have moved to after leaving X post Donald Trump’s win.
Similarly, a recent viral video shows Lichtman losing his cool on being called out on Piers Morgan Uncensored. Turkish-American commentator Cenk Uygur said Allan Lichtman’s keys were wrong to which Lichtman strongly protested and said it was a cheap shot. “You live in a total world of denial,” Cenk took a jibe. “You don’t know know anything.”
