NEW DELHI: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday once again called out Gautam Adani after the indictment by the United States for alleged bribery and fraud, and said that he and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are protecting each other, adding that the industrialist gives funds to the PM and in return the “country’s national assets is given him.”
In a post on X, Rahul Gandhi asked people to understand the “dangerous game” of corruption in which the public will always lose.
“This is a very dangerous game of corruption. Adani gives funds to Modi ji and in return Modi ji hands over the country’s national assets to him. They both protect each other first. But who is paying the price for this? You, the common Indian!” he said.

Gandhi has consistently raised concerns about the Adani Group‘s alleged corrupt practices and monopolistic control across sectors, purportedly facilitated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s BJP government.
The US Department of Justice has charged Adani Group chairman Gautam Adani for allegedly participating in a prolonged scheme to provide USD 250 million in bribes to Indian officials for favourable solar power contract terms. The Adani Group has consistently rejected these allegations, maintaining their compliance with all laws.
“When Adani makes a deal to sell electricity at high prices by giving bribes, then who has to pay the increased electricity prices? You, the public,” Gandhi emphasised.
He further noted that when financial irregularities surface and share prices decline, small investors suffer substantial losses.
“When the scam comes to light and Adani’s fraudulently inflated shares fall, then who suffers the loss? Yours, Retail Investors When ports, airports, cement, defense are all handed over to Adani, then from whose pocket does the profit he gets go? From your pocket,” he said in a post on X.
“That is why I am saying again and again — understand this game, the public will always lose in this,” Gandhi concluded, adding #BJPwithAdani.
