NEW DELHI: Former captain and batting mainstay Virat Kohli hit form in the first Test against Australia in Perth with a brilliant hundred in the second innings paving way for India’s 294-run victory and a 1-0 series lead.
The second Test of the series is a pink-ball game in Adelaide scheduled to start from Friday.

Australia have never lost a pink-ball Test in Adelaide, but with Virat back in form, the Aussies may well be bracing up for another heroic performance by the Indians.
In a viral video, former Australia captain Michael Clarke talks about Virat returning to form on a talk show.

The host says, “We single-handedly as a team played him (Virat) into form, we unlocked the cage to the lion.”
When asked by the host as who would be the Indian leading run scorer, Clarke says, “When I think about losing the Test match, that’s one thing but when I think about Virat Kohli making a hundred in the first Test, that scares me a lot. I’ll go for Virat being the leading run scorer for India in the second Test.”

Kohli has a brilliant record at Adelaide having hit three hundreds from fours Tests at the picturesque venue, including centuries in both the innings on his captaincy debut in December 2014.
Kohli has scored 509 runs at Adelaide at an average of 63.62.
