Australia women score record ODI total against India | Cricket News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Ellyse Perry and Georgia Voll scored scintillating centuries as Australia Women set a daunting 371/8 against India Women in the second ODI at Allan Border Field, Brisbane, on Sunday.
The total is now the highest ever scored against India in women’s ODIs, eclipsing the previous mark of 338/7 posted by Australia earlier this year in January at the Wankhede Stadium. India had lost that match by a hug margin of 190 runs.
After opting to bat first, Voll starred at the top with a classy 101 off 87 balls, decorated with 12 boundaries. Her innings, combined with Phoebe Litchfield’s steady 60 off 63 balls, laid a strong foundation for the hosts.
Ellyse Perry then took charge, delivering a commanding 105 off just 75 deliveries at a blistering strike rate of 140. Her knock included seven fours and a six, ensuring Australia kept the scoreboard ticking at a rapid pace.
Beth Mooney added further pressure on India’s bowlers with a quickfire 56 from 44 balls, while skipper Tahlia McGrath’s unbeaten 20 helped push Australia to a mammoth total.
For India, Saima Thakor impressed with figures of 3/68 from her 10 overs, while Minnu Mani and Deepti Sharma contributed with two and one wicket, respectively.
Having already lost the opening match by five wickets, India now trails the three-match series 0-1 and faces an uphill task to stay alive in the series.
