After a stellar opening weekend, ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ witnessed a significant slowdown at the box office on its fifth day. Starring Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna, the sequel to Sukumar’s 2021 blockbuster ‘Pushpa: The Rise’ faced its first real challenge on Monday, as collections took a noticeable dip.

According to reports from Sacnilk, the film earned approximately Rs 6.99 crore net across all languages during Monday morning shows, marking a sharp decline from its Sunday noon collection of Rs 20 crore. Despite the drop, the film’s domestic net total now stands at an estimated Rs 536.44 crore, with an India gross of Rs 632.5 crore.The occupancy rates on Monday morning were also lower compared to the weekend, with the Hindi version recording 22.42% and the Telugu version at 23.75%. Select early-morning screenings, including 1 AM and 6 AM shows in major cities, contributed significantly to the day’s earnings. The total footfall for the film has reached 2.43 crore in India.
Besides banking on advance bookings, the film is also scoring big on spot bookings. With this, the film will likely see an upward trend for its evening shows.
On the global front, ‘Pushpa 2’ continued its impressive performance. The film has raked in $9.3 million in North America alone, with $4.8 million from the three-day weekend, securing the No. 4 spot on the North American box office chart.
The sequel delves deeper into the story of Pushpa Raj, a daring red sandalwood smuggler played by Allu Arjun. As Pushpa consolidates power in the underworld, he faces formidable challenges from rivals and vengeful adversaries, including Superintendent Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat.
Released across 38 global territories, ‘Pushpa 2′ that currently has a worldwide gross total of Rs 800 crore, is expected to earn another Rs 70 crore, thus pushing its worldwide total to an estimated Rs 870 crore worldwide. The film remains on track to become the highest-grossing Indian film of the year, beating out the likes of Prabhas’ ‘Kalki 2898 AD’.
