Watch: Patna DM slaps BPSC aspirant during protest over normalisation policy | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Patna district magistrate Dr Chandrashekhar Singh was seen slapping a Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) aspirant protesting outside an examination centre on Friday. The incident occurred amidst growing unrest over the BPSC’s normalisation policy and alleged irregularities in its examination system.
Chandrashekhar was seen slapping a student as he tried to manage the crowd.

The protests have gained momentum in recent weeks, with students demanding clarity on the normalisation process and fairness in the 70th BPSC examination scheduled for December 13.
The controversy deepened after the recent arrest of student leader Dilip Kumar, who had led demonstrations against the BPSC’s decision to introduce multiple question paper sets, which critics argue could create confusion among candidates.
Dilip Kumar, released on bail on Thursday, accused the authorities of attempting to silence dissent. “If the coaching, education, and job mafia think they can silence my voice by putting me in jail, they are mistaken,” he said, pledging to continue advocating for students’ rights.
The protests have drawn support from educationists like Khan Sir and Guru Rehman, who have also criticised the BPSC’s policies.
