NEW DELHI: Opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) has decided to boycott the Maharashtra government‘s tea party to be hosted on the eve of winter session of the legislature.
“Opposition MVA to boycott Maharashtra govt’s tea party,” said Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Ambadas Danve on Sunday.
Speaking at a Nagpur press conference, Danve emphasised that despite their limited assembly representation, they would vigorously challenge the government on crucial matters, particularly those affecting farmers.
The leader of the opposition in the state legislative council expressed concern saying that the six-day duration of the winter session was too short.
Congress representative Vijay Wadettiwar joined the call for a longer session duration.
Meanwhilw, twelve MLAs from Shiv Sena will be sworn in as ministers in Maharashtra cabinet expansion today. According to Shiv Sena MLA Bharatshet Gogawale, the oath-taking ceremony will commence at 4 pm.
“Oath ceremony will take place at 4 pm today. So, we have all come to Nagpur. 7 people are new (who will take oath as ministers) and 5 are being repeated,” Gogawale told ANI.
Earlier today, chief minister Devendra Fadnavis along with his wife Amruta Fadnavis and state Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Chandrashekhar Bawankule held a road show in Nagpur.
“Nagpur city is my family and my family is welcoming me,” Fadnavis said during the roadshow.
