LeBron made the much-needed comeback during the recent face-off against the Memphis Grizzlies to the Lakers breaking off their jinxed losing streak. The LeBron James-led team went on to register their victory with an overall score of 116-110 against the Grizzlies. Despite making a comeback, netizens criticized LeBron James but Lakers coach JJ Redick was clear with respect to his words when it came to praising the NBA legend.

Despite struggling with a foot injury, and being off the court for almost a week LeBron James made a comeback with one of the most important games for the Los Angeles Lakers during the 2024-25 NBA season.
In an interview with the Sportskeeda, Los Angeles Lakers coach JJ Redick spoke about LeBron James. The 40-year-old coach believes that LeBron James is still one of the best athletes on the team. JJ Redick said-
“He’s the best on our team with attention to detail and shifts,”
He further mentioned-
“His high shift to then close, his high shift and to then get back to his man. He was great with that tonight.”
James’ foot injury diverted media attention and even his fans were left concerned and curious about the NBA star. Despite an injured foot, LeBron James truly defines what real sportsmanship is.

JJ Redick Believes LeBron James Is One Of The Most Bankable Athletes In The Lakers

During a post-match interview in November 2024, JJ Redick opened up on their embarrassing loss against Ja Morant-led team. The LA Lakers were crushed by teh Grizzlies with an overall score of 131-114. Redick used the old man’s example to elucidate how his team should be performing. He said-
“I think LeBron was fantastic tonight. The biggest thing that stood out. … He played hard. Almost 40 years old and played the hardest on our team. It says a lot about him.”
While talking about D’Angelo Russell’s performance, he said-
“Just level of competition, attention to detail, some of the things we’ve talked with him about for a couple of weeks. And at times, he’s been really good with that stuff. And other times, it’s just reverting back to certain habits. But it wasn’t like a punishment. It just felt for us to have a chance to win this game, that was the route we wanted to take.”
JJ Redick has mastered the art of containing his excitement whenever his team wins or disappointment whenever the Lakers fail to make it. He was appointed as the 29th coach of the Los Angeles Lakers in June 2024.
