WhatsApp has announced that it has started to roll out three new features for both Android and iPhones. These features, which celebrate the upcoming new year, will be available for a limited time.
“To celebrate the new year on WhatsApp, we’re excited to surprise users with some fun and delightful features to enjoy when chatting or calling with friends and family,” the company said.
“These limited-time features will be available starting December 20 through January 3, adding another layer of fun and excitement to holiday conversations,” it added.
What are the three new features and how to get them
WhatsApp users on Android and iPhones will be able to access three new features.
NYE Calling Effects: Users can make video calls during the holidays more special with a festive background, filter, or effect that celebrates the new year.
Animated Reactions: When reacting to a message using any of the 🎊🥳🎉 🍾 🥂 emojis, a confetti animation will appear for both the sender and receiver.
“This is perfect for conveying your holiday wishes in a fun and interactive way,” the company added.
New Stickers: Just like ahead of every festival, users will get curated packs of NYE stickers and avatars.
“Express yourself with a curated NYE sticker pack and avatar stickers designed for the New Year! Whether you’re sending a cheerful greeting or a heartful message, these make it more fun and easy to convey your feelings in a fun and creative way,” WhatsApp said.
