NEW DELHI: In a joint operation by the Uttar Pradesh and Punjab police, three pro-Khalistan terrorists were injured in an encounter in Pilibhit district on Monday.
Authorities reported the recovery of two AK-series assault rifles and two glock pistols from the scene.
The terroirists are believed to be involved in a grenade attack at a police post in Punjab’s Gurdaspur district on December 19.
‘Threw grenades’
A blast was reported at the abandoned Wadala Bangar police post in Kalanaur Tehsil, Gurdaspur district, on December 19.
Khalistan Zindabad Force claimed responsibility for the attack in an unverified report circulating on social media.
It was the second explosion in the district within 48 hours and the eighth incident in Punjab since November 24. Despite heightened police presence in the area, no casualties or damage to property were reported.
