Several feared dead after bus plunges into drain in Punjab | India News – Times of India


NEW DELHI: At least four to five people are feared dead after a private bus plunged into a drain near Jiwan Singh Wala village in Bathinda district on Friday.
Earlier, PTI reported police as saying that over 20 passengers sustained injuries in the accident.
The bus reportedly veered off a bridge and fell a few feet into a nullah (drain) while travelling from Talwandi Sabo to Bathinda. Locals rushed to the scene to assist in rescuing passengers, officials stated.
Police and district administration teams launched a rescue operation and transported the injured to a nearby hospital. Authorities noted that the weather was poor at the time of the accident.
