LJP releases list of candidates for Lok Sabha: Chirag Paswan to contest from Hajipur | India News – Times of India



NEW DELHI: Lok Janshakti Party (Ramvilas) on Saturday released a list of five candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Party Chief Chirag Paswan will be contesting from Hajipur.

LJP, part of NDA government, is vying for seats in Vaishali, Hajipur, Samastipur, Khagaria, and Jamui. The party’s leader, Chirag Paswan, will be contesting from Hajipur, having relinquished his current position as MP in Jamui, which has been allocated to Arun Bharti this time.
Other contenders include Rajesh Verma in Khagaria, Shambhavi Choudhary in Samastipur, and Veena Devi in Vaishali.
NDA recently disclosed its seat-sharing arrangement for Bihar’s Lok Sabha elections, with the BJP aiming for 17 seats, and JD(U) for 16. Additionally, Hindustani Aawam Morcha (HAM) and Rashtriya Lok Samta Party (RLSP) will each vie for one seat, while Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) will contest five seats.
In the 2019 elections, NDA comprising BJP, JD(U), and LJP, secured a commanding victory, winning 39 out of 40 seats. Meanwhile, Mahagathbandhan led by RJD, INC, and RLSP, managed to secure only one seat.
BJP claimed 17 seats with a 24.1% vote share, JD(U) secured 16 seats with a 22.3% vote share, and LJP garnered 6 seats with an 8% vote share. Meanwhile, INC could only secure a single seat, with a vote share of 7.9%.
