One of the most anticipated films of 2025, ‘Game Changer’ is directed by the renowned director Shankar known for his elite work in Tamil cinema. The political action thriller stars ‘RRR’ star Ram Charan opposite Kiara Advani in the lead role. The film after several delays is all set to hit the big screens coinciding with the Sankranti festive season, on January 10, 2025.
The film is based on themes of politics which is engulfed with corruption. It tells the story of an honest and determined IAS officer who takes the righteous path of fighting corruption within the system.
Ram Charan will be seen in dual roles as he plays both an IAS officer named Ram Nandan and his father, Appanna. The film features Kiara Advani as Ram’s love interest, alongside a stellar cast that includes Anjali, SJ Suryah, Prakash Raj, and several others. SJ Suryah will be seen in the shoes of the main negative character.
From the trailer release, the story seems to revolve around the life of Ram Nandan, who is determined to expose corruption within the political system after a tragedy strikes his family. His father, Appanna, had dreams of a corruption-free society, and Ram is committed to realizing that vision despite facing formidable opposition from the corrupt Chief Minister Bobbili Mopidevi, portrayed by SJ Suryah.
‘Game Changer’ is expected to be made on a budget of approximately Rs 400 crores, the film is one of the most expensive projects in recent Telugu cinema. The music is composed by Thaman S, while the cinematography by Tirru captures the grandeur of the story.
Interestingly, the makers have spent a staggering Rs 75 crore on just four songs.
Filming for ‘Game Changer’ began in October 2021 and faced several delays before wrapping up in July 2024. The production took place across various locations, including Hyderabad, New Zealand, Visakhapatnam, Mumbai, and Chandigarh. The film has been certified U/A by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and has a runtime of 2 hours and 45 minutes.
The film also marks Shankar’s debut in Telugu cinema.
