NEW DELHI: Rahul Dravid, one of cricket’s most respected and legendary figures, celebrates his birthday on January 11 and turned 52 this year.
Known as “The Wall“, Dravid is admired not just for his exceptional cricketing talent but also for his grace, humility, and dedication to the sport.
Born in Indore, Dravid scored over 13,000 runs in Test cricket and over 10,000 runs in ODIs and was known for his remarkable technique, patience, and ability to anchor innings in his playing days.
Dravid captained India with distinction and played a crucial role in some of India’s greatest Test victories and was the first player to face over 30,000 deliveries in Test cricket.
Dravid played a vital role in nurturing young Indian talent as the coach of India U-19 and India A teams and was the head coach of the men’s national cricket team when India won the T20 World Cup in June last year.
