A small town in Poland, Glogowek, has extended an invitation to billionaire Elon Musk to purchase its 13th-century castle and transform it into his European headquarters.
Mayor Piotr Bujak, Glogowek mayor, revealed on Tuesday that he had posted the proposal on Musk’s social media platform, X, and sent letters to his companies.
Though no price has been set yet, the mayor hopes this unique offer will catch Musk’s attention.
Bujak told news agency AP, that he came through media reports circulating in Europe suggesting the tech mogul is eyeing a grand location, possibly a castle in Italy, as a center for his operations.
The Glogowek castle, boasts of rich historical significance, dating back to the Middle Ages, briefly serving as Poland’s capital in the 17th century and hosting composer Ludwig van Beethoven.
“The castle has a very good vibe and is a perfect location for great things,” the mayor said.
He further added that the region has a winemaking tradition.
“We do not feel worse than Tuscany. We have a perfect climate and this is the best place on Earth,” Bujak said.
Nestled in southwestern Poland, Glogowek offers a picturesque setting with proximity to major European cities like Berlin, Prague, Vienna, Bratislava, and Warsaw. The property includes ample space for business use, residential quarters, and even a helicopter landing pad.
However, the castle is in need of substantial renovation, requiring a private investor to restore its grandeur. Mayor Bujak remains optimistic, calling it “the best place on Earth” for Musk’s ambitious ventures.
So far, there has been no response from Musk.
