During his inauguration speech on Monday, Donald Trump announced a new policy, according to which the United States government will recognize only two genders i.e. male and female. According to Reuters, talking about the same during his inauguration ceremony, Trump said:
“This week, I will also end the government policy of trying to socially engineer race and gender into every aspect of public and private life. We will forge a society that is color blind and merit-based. … As of today, it will henceforth be the official policy of the United States government that there are only two genders, male and female.”
Donald Trump’s reaction attracted criticism from the LGBT+ community and some protestors went ahead to set up a “guillotine” during Donald Trump’s inauguration ceremony. Former MLB star Josh Rocker was unimpressed with this reaction from the protesters and called them out with an X post on Monday, which read:
“The peaceful left set up a guillotine during Trump’s inauguration. These are disgusting people.”
Following Donald Trump’s statement, Kelley Robinson, who’s the president of the Human Rights Campaign, shared his reaction. According to Reuters, Robinson said:
“We refuse to back down or be intimidated. We are not going anywhere, and we will fight back against these harmful provisions with everything we’ve got.”
John Rocker’s fans also shared their reaction in the comment section of the former MLB star’s post. One fan, sharing his take, wrote:
“That’s about as much threat as they are standing in a field with signs.”
“The peaceful left…today we turn the page,” wrote another fan.
“They don’t want any smoke. They just want to act like they do. We all know that kid from HS,” said another fan.
Talking about Donald Trump’s inauguration ceremony, it was co-hosted by Chicago Cubs chairman Tom Ricketts, in Washington D.C. Ricketts co-hosted the ceremony with his wife Sylvie alongside Houston Rockets owner Tilman Fertitta, Dallas Mavericks owner Miriam Adelson and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
