NEW DELHI: Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath along with the state cabinet took a holy dip at Maha Kumbh and offered their respects on Wednesday.
In an unhinged moment, the CM and the cabinet ministers were seen splashing water at each other.
The CM was there to attend special cabinet meeting of Uttar Pradesh government.
“Many important decisions will be taken in the Cabinet meeting today. All cabinet members along with the CM will also take a holy dip at Sangam today,” Yogi had earlier said.
Slamming the move, Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav said, “Kumbh or Prayagraj is not the place where politics or political decisions should be taken. To organise cabinet meeting at Kumbh is political. Many of us (Samajwadi party people) must have gone to take a holy dip but didn’t post a picture or told you (media).”
Meanwhile, after the meeting, Yogi unveiled plans to accelerate development and investment in the state. Key announcements included the establishment of three new medical colleges in Hathras, Kasganj, and Baghpat, aimed at improving healthcare access in the region.
The CM also revealed plans to set up 62 industrial training institutes and five centers for innovation, invention, and training, reinforcing the state’s focus on skill development and technological advancement.
As part of efforts to attract investment and boost industrial growth, the government decided to renew the Uttar Pradesh aerospace and defence policy and the employment policy. Additionally, new investment incentives will be introduced to position Uttar Pradesh as a favorable destination for businesses.
