NIA conducts searches in several locations in Tamil Nadu ISIS module case | India News – The Times of India


NEW DELHI: The National Investigation Agency on Tuesday searched 16 locations in a case related to ISIS radicalization and recruitment, filed in Tamil Nadu as an offshoot of the 2022 Coimbatore temple car bomb blast.
The central agency had earlier charged four accused identified as Jameel Basha, Mohammed Hussain, Irshath, and Syed Abdur Rahman under relevant sections of the IPC and UA(P) Act.
According to the NIA, ISIS follower Jamesha Mubeen drove a car with an improvised explosive device, which exploded in front of the Kottai Sangameshwarar Temple in Eswaran Kovil Street at Ukkadam in Coimbatore on October 23, 2022. Investigations revealed that he was studying at Kovai Arabic College in Kuniyamuthur, Coimbatore. More than 25 others had been studying with Mubeen in the college a few years ago.
