NEW DELHI: With just a week left for the Delhi assembly elections, the Congress on Wednesday released its manifesto, promising a monetary grant of Rs 2,500 per month for women, free health insurance coverage of up to Rs 25 lakh, and key welfare benefits.
The party has also pledged LPG cylinders at Rs 500, free ration kits, and 300 units of free electricity for households.
Delhi Congress chief Devendra Yadav also announced that the party would conduct a caste census and set up a dedicated ministry for Purvanchalis if voted to power.

The manifesto outlines a commitment to support educated unemployed youth with financial assistance of Rs 8,500 per month for one year. In addition, the party has proposed the establishment of 100 Indira canteens across the city, aimed at providing affordable meals for just Rs 5.
Rajya Sabha MP Ajay Maken said the manifesto highlights Congress’ governance track record in Delhi and other party-ruled states.
“Hum jo kehte hain, woh karte hain (We deliver what we promise). Congress has fulfilled pre-election commitments in other states and will do the same in Delhi,” he said.
The party has already announced five guarantees, including Rs 8,500 monthly scholarships for unemployed youth, underlining its focus on welfare measures.
AAP and BJP have already released their manifestos for the February 5 elections. Counting is scheduled for February 8.
