‘Water most contaminated in Maha Kumbh right now’: Jaya Bachchan says ‘bodies thrown in river’ during stampede | India News – The Times of India

NEW DELHI: Samajwadi Party MP Jaya Bachchan launched an attack on the BJP-led Uttar Pradesh government on Monday over the Maha Kumbh stampede case in Prayagraj and said the water is most contaminated there as “bodies were thrown in the River.”
In a conversation with reporters outside the Parliament over the discussion on Jal Shakti during Zero Hour in the Rajya Sabha, Jaya Bachchan asked reporters, “Where is the water most contaminated right now?”
“It’s in Kumbh,” the SP MP said adding that the state government is eye-washing the entire situation and not providing a clear answer.
“Where is the water most contaminated right now? It’s in Kumbh. Bodies (of those who died in the stampede) have been thrown in the river because of which the water has been contaminated. The real issues are not being addressed,” she said.

She further alleged that no adequate arrangement has been provided to common or poor people visiting Maha Kumbh, whereas, VIPs are getting special treatment.
“The common people visiting Kumbh are not receiving any special treatment, there is no arrangement for them,” she added.
She further questioned the mass gathering at Maha Kumbh and said, “They are lying that crores of people have visited the place, how can such a large number of people gather in that place at any given point?”
