Delhi polls: ‘Astronauts’ assist voters at this unique polling booth, watch video | India News – The Times of India


NEW DELHI: As the voting is going on in Delhi for the assembly election, one of the polling booths caught the eye of voters with its unique theme “Chandrayan se chunav tak Bharat ki udaan.”
The polling booth is equipped with telescopes and bioscopes with volunteers dressed up as astronauts assisting the voters.

At the polling booth, the voters could be seen using telescope and Virtual Reality (VR) equipment.
Talking about the theme, Vikaspuri SDM and Returning Officer Dr Nitin Shakya said that the models of Chandryaan and PSLV, which have been made by students of Rajdhani College, Shivaji College and Bharti College, are being showcased at the polling booth.

He said, “Theme of this polling station is Chandrayaan se chunav tak’ and we have showcased models of Chandryaan and PSLV which have been made by students of Rajdhani College, Shivaji College and Bharti College. Volunteers have dressed up as astronauts to assist voters… We have even installed a bioscope for people to relive old memories and we have even compared bioscope with telescope… People are very happy with the unique arrangements here…”
Polling for 70 assembly seats of Delhi began on Wednesday morning. Voting commenced at 7 am today. Voters cast their ballots amid tight security in all seats.
The counting of votes will take place on February 8.
