Exclusive- Deni Bikes’ Meet Deore talks about taking Aman Gupta’s advice seriously; says ‘For a year and a half I shall be focusing on my studies completely’ | – The Times of India

In Season 4 of Shark Tank India, the “Campus Special” episode showcased young entrepreneurs, including 16-year-old Meet Deore from Pune, who introduced his startup, Deni Bikes. Deni Bikes focuses on producing affordable, eco-friendly electric motorcycles entirely made in India. Meet’s passion for automobiles began early; by age ten, he had built his first electric go-kart. During his pitch, he sought an investment of ₹30 lakh for a 10% equity stake, valuing the company at ₹3 crore.
Although the sharks were impressed by his technical skills and enthusiasm, they emphasized the importance of prioritizing his education. Consequently, Deni Bikes did not secure a financial investment but gained valuable mentorship and national exposure. In an exclusive conversation with Times Of India TV, Meet got candid about his experience and the Shark’s reaction and advice to him.
On his experience in the tank
It was an amazing experience being on Shark Tank and pitching to the sharks was surreal, having a conversation with them and listening to their feedback was absolutely valuable. The sharks were quite impressed and shocked listening to my journey. They even gave me valuable insights on how I should work towards my entrepreneurial journey and yes I must focus on my education as well.
Sharks connecting with him beyond the tank
Yes, I created a LinkedIn account after that. Aman and Anupam commented on my post. Aman sir had wished me luck and liked the pitch while Anupam sir wrote that, Parenting is really important in such cases where a child’s interest can actually get scaled up and turn into a big thing.
How he plans to take the business further
Right now, I am studying in the 11th grade so for a year and a half I shall be focusing on my studies completely and after that, I will shift my focus to the startup once I begin with my college. Also what the sharks suggest, I shall be focusing on that. Right now, the startup I had pitched was prototype-based and just a concept. So in future, when the business runs I shall surely reconnect with the sharks with a better business model and seek their mentorship.
