Dodgers manager Dave Roberts shares take on Bobby Miller’s injury
On Thursday, Dave Roberts spoke to the media about the viral moment of the Spring Training game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago Cubs. Roberts shared his reaction to Miller’s hit and confessed to finding “some deflection” in it. Sharing details of his reaction, Roberts said:
“It squared him up pretty good. It was kind of the front side of the head, and you can just see the distance that it traveled once it hit. So there was some deflection, but it hit him pretty flush.”
“I think he’s going to regroup, lay low and get his wits about him, and make sure he’s OK. After that, Lord willing he’s fine, then I think we’ll have the conversation, because … he’s going to want to get back out there,” Roberts further added.
Apart from Dave Roberts, Los Angeles Dodgers third baseman Max Muncy had an interaction with Bobby Miller following the game. Recalling his interaction during a post-game media interaction, Muncy said:
“It’s always very terrifying and frightening. Thankfully, he seems like he was OK. When the trainer came out, asked him if he knew where he was, he made a little joke about hanging a curveball. Right then, you kind of knew he was fine.”
The accident took place on Thursday’s Spring Training when Bobby Miller made his final pitch to the Chicago Cubs third baseman Michael Busch. When Busch made the hit, the ball knocked off Miller’s head at the speed of 105.5 mph, making him fall to the ground instantly.
On Friday, it was revealed that Bobby Miller had been placed under concussion protocol for further observation. As it appears, Miller is likely to miss the upcoming Spring Training game against the Cubs on Friday. What do you think?
