Taylor Swift, the billionaire singer, has a loyal fanbase, who supports her through thick and thin. In a surprising turn of events, a ‘divorce’ has caused a debate online, where a woman signed up for a divorce from her husband because he booed at the Super Bowl when Taylor was shown on the Jumbotron.
Louisa Melcher, a longtime Swiftie, shared a video on Instagram, and TikTok where she claimed that she was hurt after her husband discouraged Swift just to look cool in front of his male friends, even though he does not feel that way.She captioned the video stating, “It sucks to start over, but it would suck far worse to raise my future girls with a father who thinks it’s acceptable to publicly jeer at a woman just for existing ”
In the video, she expressed, “I’m divorcing my husband because he booed Taylor Swift at the Super Bowl, and I still don’t think he believes me to be honest but he might wanna start ’cause I just filed my paperwork at the courthouse.”
To show the proof, she referred paperwork that she was holding, and said, “You can see right here, and the date of separation is this year’s Super Bowl.” Furthermore, Melcher with 58.8K followers on Instagram expressed her actions by stating, “I’m not just doing this because of the action of booing, I’m doing this because of everything that represents in our relationship. I’ve loved Taylor Allison Swift since I was 12 years old. My husband even likes her too, like he’ll put on her music when we are cooking together. He has a favourite song, it’s ‘Girl At Home.’ But when we were at the Super Bowl, it was me, him, and five of his buddies.”
Regarding her husband’s reactions to Taylor, she mentioned, “When they put Taylor up on the Jumbotron, all of his buddies started booing, and my husband joined in. And that just tells me everything I need to know about this man because he didn’t care that that would hurt my feelings. He just wants to fit in with his boys, he didn’t even care that that’s not how he actually feels. He just wanted to look cool I guess and that’s not a man, that’s a boy, and when you see that, you can’t unsee it.”
Louisa mentioned that her prenup would help her regain the assets, and would not be visiting Super Bowl anytime soon. While she shared her side of the story, the comment section was filled with comments that questioned her reasonability. One user commented, ‘This has to be satire. Tell me this is satire.’ Another user wrote, ‘Dude’s dodging a massive bullet.’
However, some users defended her statement, stating that she is not divorcing him because of Taylor, it’s because he did not care about her feelings.
