NEW DELHI: At least 11 people lost their lives and two sustained injuries due to lightning strikes in various locations across Malda district in West Bengal on Thursday, police reported.
Among the deceased were two minors from the Manikchak police station area, three from Sahapur under Malda police station, two from Adina under Gajol police station, and two from Balupur under Ratua police station.
Additionally, a couple tragically passed away while working in the fields in Harishchandrapur, with the remaining casualties being residents of the Englishbazar and Manikchak police station areas.
