NEW DELHI: The woman constable, who allegedly assaulted actor-turned MP Kangana Ranaut at Chandigarh airport on Thursday, is under CISF custody, a senior Punjab Police officer said on Friday.
Mohali SSP Sandeep Garg said that the police will take over the investigation of the case from the CISF.
The CISF has already suspended Kulwinder Kaur following the incident and police are also conducting a separate investigation into the allegations.
As per the eyewitnesses and sources, Kaur allegedly confronted Kangana Ranaut over her remarks about women participating in the farmers’ protests.
The confrontation intensified when the visibly agitated constable reportedly slapped Kangana.
A video of the incident went viral on social media platrforms, in which Kulwinder said “She (Kangana) had claimed that women were sitting there (at the protest) for Rs 100. Would she sit there? My mother was also at the protest when she made that statement.”
