‘Self-serving politician’: Tulsi Gabbard slams Kamala Harris over her remarks on JD Vance – Times of India

Former US Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard has strongly criticized US Vice President Kamala Harris for her comments against JD Vance, Donald Trump‘s running mate and Gabbard accused Harris of being a self-serving politician who is unfit for office.
In response to Harris’s warning that Vance would only be loyal to Trump and not the country, Gabbard highlighted Vance’s military service. She pointed out that Vance enlisted in the Marine Corps after the 9/11 attacks and was deployed to Iraq in 2005, the same year Gabbard herself served there. Gabbard questioned whether Harris had ever been willing to put her own life on the line for the country.
In a video posted on X, Gabbard stated, “Shortly after President Trump announced that J.D. Vance is gonna be his running mate in this election, Kamala Harris issued this scathing warning to the American people, saying, make no mistake, JD Vance will be loyal only to Trump, not to our country. The audacity that she has to say this is off the charts. She’s talking about JD Vance, someone who enlisted in the Marine Corps after the terrorist attack on 9/11.”
Gabbard further criticized Harris, saying, “Kamala Harris is driven by her own political ambition. She’s a self-serving politician who should not be in office.”
Gabbard’s comments came after Harris said that Vance would act as a “rubber stamp” for Trump’s “extreme” agenda. Harris compared Vance to former US Vice President Mike Pence, suggesting that Vance would have supported Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 election results.
Meanwhile, Vance officially accepted his vice presidential nomination on Wednesday. In his acceptance speech, he introduced himself as a “working-class boy” who had risen from poverty to the vice presidential nomination. Vance pledged to serve all Americans and portrayed Trump as the country’s last hope to restore what has been lost.
