‘Teen guna atyaachar’: TMC slams NDA over video of 2 women being ‘buried alive’ in MP | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: All India Trinamool Congress on Sunday criticised the BJP-led NDA government after videos of two women being partially buried alive in Madhya Pradesh‘s Rewa surfaced on social media.
“Aayi NDA ki yeh sarkar; Laayi mahilaon pe teen guna atyaachar (Here comes NDA government; brings with it 3x torture on women),” said the Mamata Banerjee-led party sharing a disturbing video of the incident.
Calling out MP CM Mohan Yadav to “hang his head in shame!”, the party said, “Atrocities against women have become an epidemic under BJP-backed lawlessness. In MP’s Rewa, two women were nearly buried alive for opposing road construction.”

The incident took place at Hinauta village on Saturday following a land dispute between two groups. One of the groups allegedly attempted to bury two women from the opposing side alive by dumping gravel on them.
SP of Rewa, Vivek Singh, issued a statement saying, “It was a family land dispute. Two groups from the same Pandey family of the village had gathered and there was a dispute related to construction of a road. A video had gone viral in which two women Mamta Pandey and Asha Pandey are seen, waist deep in gravel being dumped from a dumper truck on them. A case was registered for culpable homicide against the accused. We have seized the truck, and an accused Vipin Pandey has been arrested.”
“Hunt for other accused is on. We have also received some other video evidence and investigations are being carried out on the basis of those footages too. The women are in normal condition, they were discharged from hospital. This is a family dispute, even the accused are from the same family,” he added.
This comes a month after BJP leader Amit Malviya called out on TMC government sharing a video of a man hitting a woman with a bundle of bamboo sticks in West Bengal.
He had said that “Mamata Banerjee is curse for women.”
