NEW DELHI: India’s star wicketkeeper-batter and T20 World Cup champion Rishabh Pant has extended his best wishes to the Indian contingent for the upcoming Paris Olympics. The Indian contingent, comprising 117 athletes, will be aiming for their best-ever medal haul at the Summer Games, which will commence on July 26.
Ahead of the prestigious event, Pant shared a video message on his social media platform, expressing his support for the athletes and captioning it, “May the tricolour fly high at Paris.Wishing our Indian Olympic athletes all the best for Paris 2024.”
In the video, he urged the nation to unite and support the Indian Olympic athletes, acknowledging their tireless efforts and dedication to making the country proud on the global stage.

India achieved its best-ever medal tally at the Tokyo Olympics, clinching seven medals, including one gold, two silver, and four bronze. Building on this success, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has pledged its support to the Indian athletes by providing financial assistance of Rs 8.5 crores to the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) for the Paris Olympics campaign.
BCCI secretary Jay Shah announced the decision on social media, expressing pride in supporting the incredible athletes representing India at the 2024 Paris Olympics. He wished the entire contingent the very best and encouraged them to make India proud.
The Paris Olympics 2024 will commence on July 26 and conclude on August 11, with India’s 117 athletes competing across 20 disciplines.
“I am proud to announce that the @BCCI will be supporting our incredible athletes representing #India at the 2024 Paris Olympics. We are providing INR 8.5 Crores to the IOA for the campaign. To our entire contingent, we wish you the very best. Make India proud! Jai Hind!” tweeted Shah.
