No alternative plans for political funding: Govt on electoral bonds | India News – Times of India



The govt on Friday told the Lok Sabha that it had no plans to bring any law regarding electoral bonds for the funding of political parties, while replying to questions on electoral bonds. The govt added it had no plans for an alternative funding proposal to the electoral bonds either, for the political parties.
Trinamool Congress MP Mala Roy, in written questions on the contentious electoral bonds, asked “whether the govt has any plan to bring any law regarding electoral bonds for political party funding; if so, the details thereof; and if not, the alternative/substitute being considered for funding of political parties to contest Lok Sabha/Assembly Elections.”
Union law and justice minister Arjun Ram Meghwal said, govt does not have any plan to bring in any law regarding the bonds and that “no such proposal is under consideration of the government.”
