NEW DELHI: A class 10th student, who became a victm of a knife attack in an Udaipur school last week, died on Monday during treatment.
The incident occured during an altercation outside Government Higher Secondary School Bhattyani Chauhatta in Girwa area. The boy was stabbed two to three times by his classmate with a knife over an old enmity. District education officer Lokesh Bharti said both minors were around 15 years old.The reason behind their dispute remains unknown. The assailant had been detained and his father arrested, police said.
The district collector, SP and other senior officials of the district reached the Udaipur Hospital where the postmortem and other formalities will be done, Udaipur SP Yogesh Goyal told ANI.
Udaipur saw communal tension and protests the schoolboy was stabbed by another from a different religion. There were temporary restrictions on movement and traffic and mobile internet services were also suspended for 24 hours.
