“The meeting was held in a very cordial atmosphere. The alliance is on track and it will work well in future with God’s grace …It is final, it will be approved by this evening,” Abdullah told reporters.
On seat-sharing agreement, the NC chief said, “This (alliance) has been done on all 90 seats.”
Rahul Gandhi and Kharge are on a two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir to meet party workers ahead of the assembly elections.
The two leaders met Farooq Abdullah and his son Omar earlier in the day.
Farooq Abdullah said the details of the alliance between the two parties will be out bythe end of the day.
On the possibility of Mehbooba Mufti’s PDP joining the alliance for a united opposition against the BJP in the state, Farooq Abdullah said, “We (NC) and the Congress are together. (MY) Tarigami (CPI-M) is also with us. I hope our people are also with us and we will win with blessings of Allah. People have faced problems for several years and we hope that the statehood will be reinstated.”
Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections will be held in three phases between September 18 and October 1.
