The elections, which took place following the resignation of previous incumbents who were elected to the Lok Sabha, saw candidates from the BJP and NDA emerge victorious across Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Haryana, Assam, and Maharashtra.

- Rajasthan: Union minister of State and BJP leader Ravneet Singh Bittu was elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha from Rajasthan. The by-election was necessitated following the resignation of Congress’s KC Venugopal, who was elected to the Lok Sabha. Bittu emerged as the sole candidate after the withdrawal of nominations, with BJP’s dummy candidate Sunil Kothari withdrawing his candidature and independent candidate Babita Wadhwani’s nomination being canceled. The term for this Rajya Sabha seat will last until June 21, 2026.
- Madhya Pradesh: George Kurian, another BJP nominee, was declared elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha in a bypoll from Madhya Pradesh. This vacancy arose after union minister Jyotiraditya Scindia’s election to the Lok Sabha from Guna, a seat he lost in 2019. Kurian’s election fills the remaining term of the seat, which lasts until 2026. The BJP continues to hold seven of the 11 Rajya Sabha seats in Madhya Pradesh.
- Bihar: Former Union minister Upendra Kushwaha and Supreme Court lawyer Manan Kumar Mishra were elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha. Both were candidates from the ruling NDA, with no opposition candidates filing nominations. The seats became vacant following the election of Vivek Thakur and Misa Bharti to the Lok Sabha. Kushwaha, in a post on X, expressed his commitment to raising the voices of the state’s exploited and deprived people in Parliament.
- Haryana: Kiran Choudhry, a former Haryana minister and BJP leader, was declared elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha from Haryana. The by-election was called after Congress’s Deepender Singh Hooda won the Lok Sabha seat from Rohtak. Choudhry’s term in the Rajya Sabha will continue until April 9, 2026.
- Assam: Two BJP candidates from Assam, former Union minister Rameswar Teli and former MLA Mission Ranjan Das, were elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha. The seats were vacated by Sarbananda Sonowal and Kamakhya Prasad Tasa, both of whom won the recent Lok Sabha elections. Assam Chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma congratulated the newly elected members on social media, expressing confidence in their representation of the tea tribes community and Barak Valley in the Upper House.
- Maharashtra: In Maharashtra, Nitin Patil of the NCP and Dhairyasheel Patil of the BJP were also elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha. These seats were vacated by Piyush Goyal and Udayanraje Bhosale following their victories in the Lok Sabha elections. Nitin Patil received his Rajya Sabha appointment certificate on Monday.
- Odisha: Mamata Mohanta, a BJP candidate, was elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha from Odisha. Her election fills the seat vacated by Prashanta Nanda, who was elected to the Lok Sabha.
- Telangana: Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi was elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha from Telangana, filling the seat vacated by K Keshava Rao, who won the Lok Sabha election from the state.
- Tripura: Rajeev Bhattacharjee, a BJP candidate, was elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha from Tripura. His election follows the resignation of Jharna Das Baidya, who was elected to the Lok Sabha from the state.
